The Fig
Al-Teen
التين
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ
By the fig and the olive.
95:1-3 The fig, olive, Sinai, and Mecca possibly symbolize Adam, Jesus, Moses, Abraham, and Muhammad, respectively. Thus, all major religions are represented.
وَطُورِ سِينِينَ
Mount Sinai.
وَهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ
And this honored town (Mecca).
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ
We created man in the best design.
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَٰفِلِينَ
Then turned him into the lowliest of the lowly.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
Except those who believe and lead a righteous life; they receive a reward that is well deserved.
فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ
Why do you still reject the faith?
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ
Is GOD not the Most Wise, of all the wise ones?
